I literally can't tell you how excited I am to almost be done with this space. The vision is almost complete, and we're all stoked to finally have a bathroom we're proud of! It's now fun to take bubble baths in here without worrying about all the other stuff we had to worry about before. If you don't know what I'm referring to, check out the gnarly water drywall rot here. Beware, it's disgusting.
On our last bathroom update we showed you a huge project that was in the works and that was our slatted ceiling. We went back and forth on this post in regards to paint vs. wood. As much as we love black, we ultimately went with wood because we love mixing wood tones with our white minimal home. It's a great way to break up a room, add texture, and obviously color.
You might notice something kind of off with the first photo on the post, too. Yes the light fixture is upside down. Yes it has the worst light for this space. Yes it's getting replaced (excited to share more on that), but for now that's how it's staying. Let's get into the fun after photos that I'm OBSESSED with. Before that though, I'm going to drop in our bathroom posts if you want to check out the entire process.
The star of the show in our eyes is definitely hands down the ceiling. So so glad we went with wood. It took roughly an afternoon to complete.
I'm going back and forth on whether or not I'm going to spray the mirror. This space doesn't have many black elements, however I do love the boldness of it. Mirror status to be continued, so stay tuned. Also I'm obsessed with the baby cactus.
Those lines though, guys. THOSE.LINES. I'm obsessed.
In our other post, I showed two of my favorite frames in this spot, however, my top favorite frame took precedence. I'm debating on switching the photo out for a Shepherd Tribe Letter's artwork, but I love the tones in these beach photographs we had taken last year.
I've never successfully kept house plants alive, however this one is 'low light' so I'm really crossing my fingers that since it gets a little natural light from our window it will hang on for the long haul. Come on green thumb!
And because you know we love a good side by side to show the progress we made. Here's the before and currently.
We're still over here swooning. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out, and still isn't finished.
We did a little photo shop to show the bathroom without the light, since it's getting replaced, and I love it without it. Here's what it will look like. (This was also before I decided the plant needed to be by the window, you know...to save it from impending death), AND the 'marble' rock that WAS on the counter that the boys picked out for us (it came out of our yard), but we didn't want one of them to accidently drop it on the countertop.
Isn't that such a cleaner look? We can't wait to show you the lighting we picked out! We entertained the idea of can lights, but didn't want to touch the ceiling (basically we should've planned a little better before executing haha). Here's what it would look like with can lights.
HOORAY! That's our current bathroom, and it's 99% finished! We plan on adding the following to the space.
- New lighting
- We MAY spray the mirror, however we can't make up our mind. Chime in on the subject in the comments.
- Towel hanger on the right of the vanity.
- New basket for right of vanity.
- Undecided on toilet paper holder.
Thank you SO much, as always for stopping by and reading our little space. We would LOVE for you to Pin ANY of the photographs on this post to your Pinterest. While you're there give us a follow and say HI!
