BATHROOM UPDATE | BEFORE, CURRENTLY, PROGRESS

THIS MINIMAL HOUSE BLOG BEFORE PHOTO 18.jpg

We've slowly been making progress on our bathroom renovation. This flu season has definitely gotten the best of us and we're all ready for SUMMER. If this is your first time reading our bathroom posts you can read our bathroom inspiration here as well as our floor tile/ fun video progression update here. Let's jump right in!

Things we have checked off our bathroom renovation list include the following:

  • Floor tile installation
  • Installation of new backer board in tub/shower
  • RedGard water proofing in shower surround

Seems like a relatively short list for what we've accomplished, but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Things we still need checked off our bathroom renovation list include the following:

  • Complete wall/shower tile
  • Assemble + Install vanity/sink
  • Install mirror/towel hardware
  • Install toilet
  • Cover vent
  • GROUT. Lots and lots of grout.

Now to our current tile status.

We decided to tile all the way up to the ceiling for splashing purposes. The entire tub surround will be tiled, as well as the chair rail around the remainder of the bathroom. We went with a 9x12 tile vs the 12x12 floor tile to switch it up and look a little less uniformed.

I can't even tell you, as a mom of boys, how EXCITED I am to alleviate drywall by the toilet and have the tile as a replacement. You'll also notice that we removed the trim around the window. We will be squaring that off as opposed to the current round trim to go along with the clean minimal aesthetic we're going for.

Lastly, an awkward glance at the tile in the corner where the toilet will be. #smallbathroomproblems

THIS MINIMAL HOUSE BATHROOM RENOVATION

We will be working the rest of this rainy afternoon to knock out that bathroom to-do list! If you could pick one thing to change in your bathroom, what would it be? Looking forward to sharing more progress, and like always THANK YOU so much for stopping by and reading! You're so greatly appreciated!
