We don't have an office in our house. We rearranged our laundry room, which didn't leave enough desk space to accommodate my laptop and desktop. Our solution? Utilize the space that used to be our beautiful blue paneled kitchen nook. You can check out our kitchen nook progress photo post here.
Today I added the baseboards, quarter round, and caulk.
I would love to add some open shelving to our desk area, as long as I can justify what will be on them. I have a love hate relationship with shelves because they tend to just be "pretty" and "styled", which is nice, but I want to be able to use 100% of this space. The end goal is never to have the "Pinterest House" it's to have the house that I love, want to be and live in, make memories in, grow our family in. Keep that in mind when it comes to transforming your space. Create YOUR home for your heart.
So far I am absolutely LOVING our diy desk area for our small narrow kitchen. I'm currently typing this post FROM my desk, instead of standing at my counter! Happy dance! :)
