So long story short, once upon a time we had a high top bar dining room table. We also have a climber, aka our youngest child. Well said child climbed that high top bar table and fell off. Needless to say it got evicted immediately. We eventually got tired of eating everywhere besides a dining room table, that we built a diy table. The goal of it was to be a temporary table, but I'm not gonna lie, I don't hate it.
The major perks about our diy minimal dining room table are the following:
- It's low, so no children will get hurt falling from this height. (fingers crossed)
- It's extremely inexpensive, ringing it at just under $60. (can't beat that)
- The chairs are also affordable, and the easiest to wipe down because #kids.
For now it works for us! It will probably transition to the basement once it's finished for a homework table, but that's way later down the road.
