OUR FIREPLACE, AND THE GRAND PLANS WE HAVE FOR IT

OUR FIREPLACE, AND THE GRAND PLANS WE HAVE FOR IT

Look at that sad, distraught fireplace. If I’m being honest, it was part of what sold me when we we’re looking for homes. We had never had an actual fireplace before, and this gigantic original brick fireplace was all.the.goals.

DIY MODERN STEP STOOL BUILD USING SCRAP WOOD

DIY MODERN STEP STOOL BUILD USING SCRAP WOOD

We posted our final bathroom reveal last week, and there was one thing that was missing…a step stool. I created one this past weekend as a temporary fix, but wasn’t a fan of it because it was too “farmhouse” for our space and aesthetic. The temporary step stool consisted of 2x4 scraps, and if you’re familiar with farmhouse decor, a majority, if not all projects, use 2x4’s.

REMOVING A PENDANT LIGHT + REPLACING IT WITH RECESSED LIGHTING

REMOVING A PENDANT LIGHT + REPLACING IT WITH RECESSED LIGHTING

This room has had many identities since living here. It’s been both a dining and family room. That’s the funny thing when it comes to an open concept home, you have to go through the exhausting trial and error of layouts until you find something that is just right.

BUILD A FLOATING CREDENZA | PRICE + MATERIAL BREAK DOWN

BUILD A FLOATING CREDENZA | PRICE + MATERIAL BREAK DOWN

This do it yourself credenza that we built is one of my favorite projects to date. This project is functional, practical, and has helped tremendously when it comes to organization with the indoor items we have. The left cabinet holds books, the middle holds toy cars, and the right cabinet holds family games. I love the fact that it's raised off the floors. This creates a more open space, plus I can sweep/run the ILife underneath it without any problems.
